Lake Mendota. November 2, 2022. No wind. Clear water. Almost 50 Fahrenheit at 8 am. Crazy. Also beautiful.

It’s an honor to receive the Excellent Paper Award from the Japanese Society of Limnology for my first lead-authored paper! I did this work as part of my MS on the relationships (or lack thereof) between rusty crayfish and water clarity in Wisconsin lakes

Our new study examines the transfer of microplastics in freshwater communities. In lab expts, @G_DAvignon tested how trophic & nontrophic interactions of co-occurring benthic animals (round goby, quagga mussel, amphipod) affect their uptake of microbeads: https://t.co/FD5YAksc0M
