1/3: Tonight, the storm chasing community is mourning the loss of Dakota McGee. While I don’t know him personally, the storm chasing community is heartbroken for real. He will be deeply missed by all the chasers who knew him well.

This was my first ever Tornado Emergency since April 27, 2011. I remember tracking this large and violent tornado that started in Southeastern Mississippi, and boy, by the time a TOR-E was issued, I panicked for real. Thinking this where I end, I’m gonna be hit by this tornado.

I lost my aunt, Sharline. She passed away from cancer this morning in Waynesboro. Her last words she said to me and my mom is that she loves us.

I am saddened to announce this evening that my grandma has passed away at Anderson South in Meridian, MS. Please pray for me and my mom as we embrace the difficult time.💔

18:16z SPECIAL UPDATE: Unofficially added a 45% TOR Risk due to growing concerns for several strong to intense long tracked tornadoes, including the OKC Metro. Increased the wind threat to 45% as supercells may produce widespread damaging winds of 75+ mph. The hail risk is 45%.

If this system develops, it’ll be the first time in history that we had a December tropical/subtropical cyclone. Last time it happened was back in 2005 where Zeta developed late in December 2005 to early January of 2006.
A Special Tropical Weather Outlook has been issued for the system located over the central Atlantic. This system has a medium chance of becoming a subtropical cyclone during the next few days as it moves slowly northeastward. See for details.

Yikes, parts of Central MS just woke up to a Day 3 MDT Risk as confidence for a tornado outbreak just increased and it is not out of the question of a High Risk is needed or not, regardless the risk, significant tornadoes is likely.
