Florida has fallen so far under Scott Stricklin that the Tulane coach is (thankfully) not immediately accepting the job #FireStricklin #SayNoToSumrall
In an attempt to retain Jon Sumrall, Tulane has extended to him a multi-year offer averaging more than $4M a year, sources tell @YahooSports. It would make him the second highest-paid non-A4 coach in the country. Sumrall is expected to decide on an offer from Florida by Sunday.

Sumrall may be a fine coach. He does not fit Florida. He will fight an uphill battle from day 1. I will go to every game and root for the Gators, but that is reality. It’s an insane hire given the circumstances. It proves that Scott Stricklin is not serious about Florida football
Jon Sumrall is choice 1 at Auburn. Also will be preferred at Ole Miss if Lane leaves. But again- if Florida whiffs on Sumrall, it’s the classic “lost to Lane” twice scenario.

Spoke with several sources inside the UAA and they reiterated that no donors have been involved in the coaching search or hiring process. Unlike other schools, Florida’s boosters have never dictated a coaching search and they aren’t starting with this one.
