I wrote about how the continued growth of school choice in WI while public school enrollment declines shows there is a need for alternatives, and calls into question the efforts of some to limit the ability of families to access them. https://t.co/iX2nxpDka7

Too bad for her she didn’t work in Wisconsin, DPI would have probably found her a promotion.

Evidence is coming in: Removing phones improves learning. And this study was in Florida, which only bans phones DURING class time, which misses out on most of the benefits (social, discipline....) of a phone-free school day. https://t.co/1ZxlQzgqcH

When Ohtani grounded out to Vlad Jr, that was a $1.2 billion play. I weep for the small markets. #WorldSeries

I’ve been told by MAGA for years that the movement was about moving on from Reagan. Apparently instead now we’re going to be gaslit about what Reagan believed.

I’ve never asked for prayer on here but as @JamesAFurey and I start the process to launch a school, we need it We’re building a team, talking to authorizers, seeking funding, scouting buildings, and crafting our curricular/instructional plan We need wisdom and God’s guidance

When I've known people on food stamps, they almost never have been able to use it all and are almost always selling it.

My mind is blown. The average SNAP beneficiary gets $973 a month in benefits for a family of 4? Umm, my family of 4 spends $850 a month at a grocery store. Why I am I paying more for them than what I spend?

Where is the urgency from any @WisDems on this issue? I've seen a singular post about it from @saraforwi and that's it. @AssemblyDemsWI @WISenateDems

It is absolutely ridiculous that Dr. Jill Underly is off at her college receiving a "distinguished alumni award" instead of answering questions in Assembly committee today. The @CapTimes reporting raises serious questions that demand answers from the head of DPI. Unacceptable.

One important question in all this: why have we created such a large dependency class in this country and state? https://t.co/18Ylod5qpZ

State education officials are on the hot seat today at the Capitol. Lawmakers are questioning them about whether DPI is transparent enough about letting families know when educators were investigated or surrendered licenses following accusations of sexual misconduct

If you wonder why DPI gamed the system with assessments, it’s to avoid accountability to families on metrics like this that compare pre- and post-pandemic outcomes. By lowering our standards, no comparison is possible.

Education stagnation: Only 3 states have fully bounced back in both math and reading since the pandemic: Iowa, Mississippi, and Tennessee. Just 6 of 23 states beat 2019 math levels, and only 4 of 20 exceeded 2019 ELA levels. The recovery gap remains wide. Grateful for this

The close relationship between sports gambling & sports is distasteful because most gambling is stupid & harmful to people, but none of the players involved in the NBA or MLB scandals thought, “manipulating the result is acceptable because my league has a contract with FanDuel.”

Hiding from the truth has become a hallmark of DPI in recent years on everything from student test scores to their most basic responsibility in protecting kids.

🚨Today, Jill Underly was supposed to testify before a State Assembly Committee regarding the cover-up of 200+ teacher sexual misconduct cases. Instead, she is SKIPPING TOWN to receive an award in Indiana. She won’t protect our kids, but she will happily collect accolades.
