My mother liked things with lots of fringe on them. I guess I do too.
Lots of words, but not a lot of serious risks although AL95 might brush the #LeewardIslands, fringes of Priscilla impacting #Mexico, fringes of Halong might brush #Japan ...

There's a "tug of war" emerging between Arctic atmosphere (where air near surface is warming faster than high altitudes) and tropics (where high-altitude air is warming faster), and the as-yet TBD outcome will have major implications for global weather patterns.

That's an impressive pool of cool air in Northern Canada for late July! It's heading for the Eastern US for end of the week. Hopefully it hangs around until I return to Boston Aug 6. I have been enjoying the pleasant temps in Europe, heat & humidity would be a shock to the system

It's my favorite term these days to describe the summer pattern - "ring of fire" as heat domes slosh around the continental mid to high latitudes. But where will the heat domes call home for most of the summer bring the warmest weather? Blog is now public: https://t.co/CGUOIWUvOO
