Quinn describing McLaurin as being "on the same page" is huge. Would seem to indicate we can rule out him holding out into the season / missing games IMO.
Dan Quinn said the Terry McLaurin PUP activation begins the return-to-play process. Quinn said McLaurin is on the same page. "We've got a real process in our return-to-play that we believe in. We know it works.". No indication of progress with contract talks, however.

"I worry about the advice that [McLaurin's] getting from his agent, from talking to a number of people, it sounds like it's too bad he doesn't have somebody else in his ear because it doesn't seem like he's getting a lot of wise counsel on this.".-@ByMikeJones (National NFL

RT @john_keim: Commanders are 10th at $7.47 billion. The Harris group purchased the team two years ago for $6.05 billion.

The yards/play tonight was 5.4 to 5.1. In a preseason game with 30 of the best players on the team inactive. The accounts acting as if anything about this game is alarming or meaningful should tell you more about them than anything about the actual team. #Commanders.

This is a real tweet from one of the longest tenured guys on the #Commanders beat.
I'm not surprised the Pats came out with intent in this game. Vrabel focused on remaking Pats with toughness and professionalism. And yes 30 starters down, but still the level of asskicking is problematic.

Somebody should tell B Mitch and Chick Hernandez to treat this game less like a real game and more for what it is. Who on the field should we focus on because they've got a shot to make the team? "DQ is not gonna be happy with these penalties!" is not it. #Commanders.

If you want solid, meaningful preseason analysis, follow John. If you want unserious (hopefully?) tweets about how 3rd string QBs and #5 WRs are affecting the McLaurin negotiation, well, you have options. .
Have mostly liked what I've seen from Conerly tonight. Occasional issue but overall solid. Croskey-Merritt did not have a huge run but showed the vision/cuts/bounce that he's shown in camp. Finishes strong too.

RT @JoshTaylorFB: I haven’t seen Matt Gay miss a kick at any of the practices I’ve been to, and it’s not getting talked about enough. #Rais….

Please God don't waste a roster spot on Chris Moore. By far bigger red flag for Peters than the McLaurin situation if that's actually someone "expected to make the team." #Commanders.
The first ball to touch a veteran WR’s hands for the Commanders in game action was dropped despite being in the bread basket. Chris Moore, who’s expected to make the team and who has gotten starter reps with McLaurin out. Bad drop.

Whatever happened to the idea of "a hometown discount"? Only in Washington are we expected to give an over-market hometown bonus instead. Severance pay for playing 4 years under Snyder I guess? How about being a fan through all 24 years of it?! Respectfully fuck off. #Commanders.
"Respectfully Washington, you were a dumpster fire for years. The only thing good about your organization was [Terry McLaurin].". —@danorlovsky7 on McLaurin's contract negotiations being "one of the dumbest" NFL offseason situations 😅

Terry's camp has clearly put the word out to media that they're focused on DK's Gtd $, not AAV. Obviously a response to the negative pub around Schefter's "considerably more" comment last week. It's semantics. DK has the 4th highest AAV at WR. and the 4th highest Gtd $. Either.
Sources: Terry McLaurin is looking for parts of DK Metcalf's new Steelers contract in his own negotiations with the Commanders — but not necessarily Metcalf's $33 million average salary. More of what I'm hearing:

For everyone, including Terry's camp, arguing his age doesn't matter:. In the last 15 years, only 3 receivers have had multiple 1,000 yard seasons at age 31 or older (and none since 2017): . Larry Fitzgerald, Hines Ward, and Reggie Wayne. That's it. That's the list. #Commanders.

The last year of his current contract plus the tag next year (a route the team could go whether Terry likes it or not) would be ~$51m over the next 2 years ($25.5 AAV). @Spotrac has his market value at $24.5m AAV. Terry is getting some bad advice, man. #Commanders
