It really was. I wonder how many people (or beat reporters 😏) realize that a lot of NFL QBs are making decisions not based on reading coverages, but instead "progressing" through a predetermined order of eligible receivers to find an open target. Combats disguised coverages.
Some awesome convo today with Vikings OC Wes Phillips on pure progression passing. Appreciated the perspective, educational. Interesting to hear him talk about the evolution in the league:
