Many thanks to Nagham, one of our counsellors, for donating this beautiful @Usborne book for us to keep in the waiting area. This book navigates the important and challenging issues facing refugees in an informative, sensitive yet honest way for children to understand.

Real pleasure to take our refugee social group to visit 'A World in Common: Contemporary African Photograph' at @Tate. It was a thought-provoking, humouros, vibrant and striking collection of works. We thoroughly enjoyed it!

The best part of this activity, one of the group told us was: "Learning how to play with mud... Memories of childhood refreshed. It was a relaxing, calming process to beat stress & anxiety."
Today was our final pottery session at the awesome Mud Gang. Over the last six weeks our wonderful group have been building, making (and playing) with clay, learning different techniques and enjoying the peaceful atmosphere at Mud Gang's beautiful studios.

Thanks to Mud Gang and our tutor Sourabh in particular, for being so welcoming, patient and warm over these weeks. It has been a great way for our group members to engage in fun and focused artistic activities, whilst learning unique skills and meeting new people.

We're already seeing the negative impact of this policy on our clients' mental health. We support @refugeecouncil in calling for change

This allows us to manage waiting times and offer a better service to our existing beneficiaries. During this time we will not be able to take on any new referrals for refugees & asylum-seekers who need language counselling. Our group activities remain open for new service users.

Due to unprecedented demand on our service and volume of referrals in recent months, we have made the difficult decision to temporarily close the MECS waiting list between Tuesday 1st August and Monday 2nd October.

Our meetups group seized the clay at our first of 6 weeks of workshops at the calm and beautiful Mud Gang Pottery Studio in Waterloo. Under excellent tutelage the group focused on hand building: pinch-pots and coiling. Needless to say we are fired up for our next session!
