Fascinating talks by Devin Incerti and Xiang-Yi (Gregory) Chen, to name a few, at R-HTA 2023. Hawre Jalal will conclude the day and this year's workshop in the next hour, and I look forward to his talk.

Had a blast talking about the benefits of #R (instead of Excel) for HTA at NICE Technical Forum today, with the brilliant @R06ertSm1th. The response was quite positive, and the discussion was mainly about WHEN and HOW #R will become the new standard, not if! 🚀

Check out our new paper on decomposing quality-adjusted life expectancy inequalities by mortality & health-related quality of life dimensions! We found: mortality accounts for 63% of the inequalities, while pain/discomfort was the most influential domain. https://t.co/gbF7V1V3Nx

Probably one if not the most influential paper in health economics: "Economics of coronary artery bypass grafting" by Alan Williams from 1985. The paper is less than 4 pages, but basically launched the entire field of cost-per-QALY analysis. https://t.co/z05qQ8eDhL

A mathematician, a statistician and a health economist are being asked: What is 2+2? Mathematician: 4. Statistician: 4, on average, but with 95% CI of 3.2 to 5.1. Health economist: *shuts door* *shuts window blinds* *leans over and whispers* What do you want it to be?
