🚨As back-to-back earthquakes hit Manay, Davao Oriental, Jason is at the forefront of local response efforts—turning learnings into action & proving preparedness saves lives. "Our ICS is more organized & efficient. As a cadre, I share best practices with fellow responders."

💡Training responders is key in disaster risk management. Davao Oriental Assistant PDRRMO Jason Bendulo is one of the government responders trained on Incident Command System under WFP's Disaster Preparedness and Response programme in partnership with @civildefensePH in 2017.

2/2: This comes just 10 days after another devastating earthquake hit Cebu and is on top of 3 typhoons that impacted the country over the past 3 weeks where WFP has already helped the Government to deliver life-saving food, set up logistics hubs, and restore connectivity. 🚨

1/2: Earlier today, a 7.4 magnitude earthquake hit Davao Oriental, followed by a 6.8 magnitude aftershock. @wfp_philippines quickly snapped into action, deploying an initial team, readying emergency equipment & transport capacities to support Government response if needed. 💪

🚨A 7.4 magnitude earthquake struck offshore in Davao Oriental in southern Philippines around 9:43 a.m. today. @phivolcs_dost has issued a tsunami warning. WFP stands ready to support the Government-led response.
