#DYK some fish "sing" to communicate? Research shows boat noise causes male fish to change aggressive calls & mating hums! More evidence of the need for quieter or slower vessels to protect marine life that depend on their voices! @UVicScience @uvic. 📷 Alex Heyman/iNaturalist

This male wolverine didn’t bring flowers. Instead, he marked his interest by peeing at the entrance of a female’s den. Not the most charming courtship 😬. Once widespread, wolverines are now a species of concern due to habitat loss & disturbance 💔. More→

Dancing for love 🕺✨. Male Greater Sage-Grouse put on an elaborate courtship dance, inflating their chests and popping air sacs to impress females 💘. With fewer than 160 left in Canada, sites like Grasslands National Park & Area KBA are critical for their survival. @kbacanada

"Peat belongs in bogs, not bags." – Dr. Lorna Harris for @FT last month. Harvesting from peatlands disrupts ecosystems & contributes to climate change. Go peat-free with alternatives like wood chips & compost - your garden and the planet will thank you! 💚 #WorldWetlandsDay
