An important lesson for #EarthDay2025: . In 2024, Washington eradicated the murder hornet. That success didnβt come from government studies or bureaucracy. It came from cooperation and innovation. When stakes are high, markets are best at delivering environmental results. 1/2

A great question! Here are some things (I do most of these). 1. Get a @Sense monitor and track your electricity usage. This helps find ways to conserve. 2. Sign up for programs that save you money when you reduce peak-hour electricity use like @PSETalk Flex.
@WAPolicyGreen Todd, what are some things that individuals can do, without the government, to leave a cleaner planet to the next generation?.

The program didn't hit any of its targets. It didn't increase sales as promised. It didn't reach the people it promised. CO2 reductions were virtually zero. Once again, politicians & government care more about looking good than actually helping the planet or people #waleg 2/2.

Echoing our findings, @CascadePBSNews finds the state's $45 million EV rebates failed to achieve the promised goals. My favorite part is the comment from the head of @wacommerce saying that if they tried to actually keep their promises nothing would happen. π€ #waleg 1/2

Gallup data show pride in being American continues to decline. But America continues to provide freedom and opportunity that is unmatched. Tomorrow, @WAPolicyCenter launches a series that rebuts the absurd claim that we shouldnβt be proud of American ideals. #waleg #America250

Play it on repeat: if you care about the environment, don't put big talking (but phony) politicians in charge of caring for the planet. EV sales in Washington state continue to stall.2/2 #waleg.

EV sales in Washington state fell to 12.5% of new passenger vehicle sales in May - virtually identical to 2024 even though taxpayers are paying tens of millions in subsidies to promote sales. Politicians love to make big promises, but routinely fail to deliver. 1/2 #waleg

CT Gov. Ned Lamont (D) vetoed a bill that would have made striking workers eligible for unemployment benefits saying he wants to protect jobs. "Iβm pro jobs and I want to watch out for any bill which I think discourages jobs in this state.β. #waleg.

Groups like @americanrivers & WA Conservation Action routinely make apocalyptic predictions about Chinook returns on the Snake River. Four years ago, they said salmon would be "nearly extinct" this year. Instead, the return is 52% larger than when they made the claim 1/2 #waleg

βThere are those who say we should not have an SST. To them, I say we are vividly in an era of supersonic transports, with both the Russians and the British-French consortium way ahead of us technologically. Economically, it is obvious that we must compete, but we lose our.
Wyden: Even the heads of companies involved in fossil fuels are saying: we need solar quickly to get more electrons to the grid. This plan risks plunging us into an energy crisis. It would be a disaster and a total surrender to China on clean energy manufacturing. It's

If you care about something, you track results. @EcologyWA admits it is violating state law and failing to track state CO2 emissions in a timely manner. So, do they actually care if our climate policies work? #waleg.
The @WAPolicyCenter sues the WA Department of Ecology for Hiding CO2 Data. Youβd think if the $2 BILLION weβre spending on the Climate Commitment Act was actually working, theyβd want us to know, right? Right??? π€. @WAPolicyGreen interviewπ.

The citizens who pay the bills don't get oversight of their government until the money is already spent. #waleg.
Read: WA Supreme Court says initial contract offers between the state and employee unions are not public records until #waleg funds the CBAs. Citizen Action Defense Fund argued they should be public when tentative agreements reached.
