5 years ago I was celebrating 72 days post brain surgery! God is Good! I walk, I talk, I drive, I laugh, I cry, and I teach math. What more could I ask for? I am blessed!

My husband sends his entire family to an environment where we could all die. We aren’t police officers or in the military. Simply a math teacher, 12th grader, and 10th grader but go ahead and keep thinking this is about your rights. This is about the NRA and money!

1/2 Research generally fails to support the idea that kids must be taught certain basic facts or skills before they can actively construct conceptual understanding. So some traditionalists started using the term "foundational" to make their favored approach APPEAR more persuasive

This is very true. I struggling to think of one school that I have helped “turn around” and it stayed there once the leader was promoted. 🥺🥺
A ‘turnaround school’ usually reverts back to its steady decline as soon as the most recent ‘turnaround principal’ leaves. Schools don’t need to be turned around. They need to be anchored in sustainable growth and development that outlives those who lead it. #TrueTransformation

Iowa high school principal Dan Marburger, who engaged a shooter to give his students time to escape earlier this month, has died of his injuries. Thinking of his family and Perry Community School today; he'd served the kids in Perry for over 25 years. He is a hero. #RIP @NASSP
