Thanks @ArlingtonNatl for honoring our great #winchesterva hometown hero! He also finished his career with a +.400 batting average and was a wonderful humble American hero whose story we’re doing our best to tell!
The #WorldSeries finishes tonight, but we always have the opportunity to honor baseball players who served. Spottswood Poles played in Negro Leagues and served with 369th Infantry Regiment (Harlem Hellfighters) during WWI. He is laid to rest in Section 42. We honor his service.
