Another member of Tipperary's golden era in hurling has passed away, the great John 'Mackey' McKenna at the age of 87. The Borrisokane clubman won 4 All-Ireland medals in 1961, 62, 64 & 65.

It is my son’s 45th birthday today. Another birthday he has not enjoyed with his family because of an indiscriminate IRA bomb. Tim has lived on through the charity and it’s peace building work and so his life has served 000’s of others. God bless you my son
