The injury, by the way, was a torn labrum. Which happened in London against Browns. (He had already been dealing with bruised ribs from the game in Dublin; couldn't play golf that week b/c of it.) Vikings were well aware of the severity. Surgery was always going to be necessary.
Carson Wentz came in on two weeks notice, was thrown into the fire, became seriously injured, and played through that for weeks. The Chargers night was extremely difficult to watch, frankly. It was almost scary. Couldn't believe he was still in. Dude is as tough as they come.

Would be interesting to know if Wentz was going to need this regardless, or if him taking an unnecessary beating last Thursday caused this result….
Vikings will place Carson Wentz on IR. Wentz will undergo season-ending surgery on his left shoulder.

This has been a theme against this Vikings defense, started by Arthur Smith and the Steelers. Unbalanced, big TE sets, etc. Just feels like a physics equation that MIN loses.
