@natalielouis13⁩ asked the child “can I show you what you got right about this word?” Honoring what the child brought to the table while still offering the correct spelling #tcrwp #onemorse

As technology continues to grow, it seems that our kids’ ability to talk for long periods of time on one topic is dwindling. We need to encourage conversations-both social and academic. Social talk makes academic talk better! @MissNFriday

Use quick, frequent, low stakes assessments, especially for students who might be struggling. Our teaching is more energized and more purposeful when we know our strident and their strengths! @ValGeschwind #tcrwp

As a writing teacher, my main question was, "What's it like?" What's it like to have lived your life? To be you? What future do you see for yourself? And how can we use writing and reading to explore these questions?

😍This is my fav ⁦@Flipgrid⁩ project ever! My grade 5s were looking forward to K buddies but with Covid limitations we’re unable to meet in person. My Ss recorded themselves reading a book (w/ fluency & expression) and now these QR codes are a part of a K listening centre.

Professor friends, This time of year is tough for college students. Sometimes it feels like the world is crashing down. Be kind. That paper doesn’t need to be due by that made up deadline. Just because you were tortured doesn’t mean you have to invoke the same trauma #CarryOn

Are you teaching a phonics curriculum? Or are you teaching phonics so children learn and use it? Those can overlap, but not always. We can teach without student learning.

We are talking about power in kindergarten. Today we re-read some favorite read alouds looking through the lens of critical literacy. Tiny readers are asking BIG questions. #tcrwp @TCRWP @ValGeschwind @amandalah @lasdk8
