A4: I often say, "assessment IS relationship-building." Relationships built on the periphery (i.e., "How was your weekend?") are fine, but how we handle their learning tells them all they need to know about our priorities & whether they truly matter as human beings. #ATAssessment

Brilliant!
After handing back their tests, I will have my students read this article about the four types of mistakes and have them reflect on what types of mistakes they made on their tests. https://t.co/11YfSeeeAz

#openmiddlebook Ts. What does everyone think if we take screenshots of the problems we’re working on with a link to the original problem on the OM website so that others can share strategies and solutions? This would create a bank of great resources for all Ts to use! #iteachmath

@ChristineYH I know we struggled to develop “critical thinking skills” as they are so context specific. You need a strong knowledge base to be a critical thinker in a particular area. It is false to believe that one can become a critical thinker by practicing critical thinking skills.

@wmchamberlain we have to stop the “learning skills/competencies vs content” debate… we need both. Learn WITH content. #edchat
