Wrote this 16 months ago after the Caps won the Stanley Cup and wondered what it would be like if the Nats ever went to the World Series. As we’ve now seen, D.C. can be a great sports town. We all just needed great teams to fall in love with.

The email sent to media this morning about World Series tickets said the pre-sale for those who bought NLCS tickets will be at 9 a.m. Friday. I've heard from several of you now who received emails saying it's 10 a.m.

The Nationals have scored first in every game. They haven't trailed for one pitch of any game. Only one team has ever swept a best-of-7 series when it scored first and never lost the lead in any game - the Orioles in the 1966 World Series. Looks like they'll have company!
