I was 17 when I visited DC for America’s 200th birthday. A lot has changed since 1776 (and 1976), but progress driven by entrepreneurs has been a constant. As we look to 250, I’m optimistic about America’s innovation engine—and hopeful its benefits will be felt more broadly.

AOL brought me to DC, but Hawaii will always be home. Last week’s #HawaiiOnTheHill was a powerful reminder of the spirit that makes the islands special—& why a prosperous future requires honoring the past, investing in community & building for resilience.
