Congratulations, @digigeolab, on your 15-year anniversary! .Last week, @agepoom and @janika_raun passed on our lab’s greetings to our friends at the DGL, @helsinkiuni, at the anniversary seminar.

Siiri with colleagues published an article “Does a Small Country Have Meaningful Regional Personality Differences? The Case of Estonia” that sheds light on how regional differences in personality traits are connected to political, economic, social, and health (PESH) indicators.

Last Friday, our first micro-credential programme "Designing a Sustainable and Cohesive Future City" concluded successfully with students presenting innovative group projects on urban spatial interventions. Facilitated by Age Poom, Elise Jalonen, and other @unitartu lecturers.

What an honour to meet the President of Maldives @MMuizzu and share Mobility Lab’s research experience on using mobile telecom data for social good! Researchers Age Poom and Velle Toll accompanied @unitartu Rector to discuss potential collaborations.

During the busy end-of-year season, we took a moment with our team to celebrate upcoming holidays and enjoy good food together. In addition, we tapped into our inner poets and created collaborative poems. We also wish all of you joyful holidays and a successful and happy new year

It was inspiring and enjoyable to have @andres_sevtsuk from @MIT City Form Lab visit us in Tartu. We appreciate the opportunity to exchange research insights, discuss their societal relevance, and explore ideas for future collaboration.

Over the weekend, we celebrated the 105th anniversary of the Department of Geography in our beloved Vanemuise 46!

This week, we met with Merit Tatar (@IBS_Estonia) and Kertu Vuks (Tartu City Government) to plan our @DNSUNSET collaboration, including the secondments of PhD researchers Ahmed Rezk and Michele Donnini, focusing on crisis preparedness and sustainable mobility.

At the EstGIS Annual Conference in Tartu, @antoaasa from our lab presented various ways how to define Estonia’s functional regions. The research is a baseline for the forthcoming national plan Estonia 2050 and funded by the Ministry of Regional Affairs and Agriculture.

Delft and Utrecht welcomed us this week to meet with V2G-QUESTS project partners and discuss vehicle-to-grid solutions linked to car-sharing or major renovation. Age and Daiga presented ongoing research in Tartu but there was so much to learn from real-life advances in Utrecht!
