Over the past 30 years, the GOP record on government shutdown wins is something like 0-12. The Dems are now 0-2 with the next game coming on Jan 30th. They must have hired the former GOP Offensive Coordinator and had him bring his playbook over.
On Oct. 16, John Thune offered Democrats a deal where he guaranteed a vote on ACA subsidies by December in exchange for reopening the government. Democrats rejected it. On November 9 -- 24 days later -- they took the EXACT same deal. This shutdown could have ended weeks ago.
