USACE and its contractors have removed 6 MILLION cubic yards of hurricane debris in Western North Carolina. That’s enough to fill 800,000 school buses, which if lined up end to end would stretch over 5,300 miles, roughly the distance from New York to Tokyo!

Mission complete (7 days ahead of schedule). The Dredge McFarland has completed an emergency dredging assignment for @USACEWilmington. During her deployment, she dredged more than 335,000 cubic yards of material in North Carolina, opening the navigation channel to -44 feet MLLW.
