Cold water can take your breath away, literally. A sudden plunge can trigger a gasp reflex, causing you to inhale water. Stay safe by dressing in layers, wearing a life jacket over a dry suit, and remembering that even wet clothes can help you float.

USACE is a leader in applying tools to study and plan for sea level changes. The analyses we perform on projects like the proposed Rio Puerto Nuevo flood risk management in the Caribbean District help make sure things like roads, bridges and neighborhoods will stay safe.
