Congratulations to Dr. Seema Singh’s lab on their new publication in npj Breast Cancer. Led by Dr. Amod Sharma, the study reveals subtype- and race-specific immune differences in breast cancer, offering insight into disparities in outcomes, especially in triple-negative cases.

Dr. Jasmine Miller-Kleinhenz has been named UMMC’s 2025 Researcher of the Year. Her work on racial disparities in breast cancer, supported by a $946K NIH grant, is leading the way toward more equitable cancer care. She also received the AACR Minority Faculty Scholar Award.

Congrats to Drs. Anand and Singh on their new study in Cancer Letters. They found that two key proteins help pancreatic cancer cells adapt in low oxygen, making tumors more aggressive. Targeting this process may offer new hope for future therapies.
