A whole lot of NFL fans nationwide are going to tap dance on the Chiefs' downfall the next several weeks. But I gotta say, I'm with them. And here's why: In order for the Chiefs to maximize the second half of Mahomes' incredible career, this wake-up call is needed.

There are many plays that define the 2025 Chiefs, but that one is the headliner.

May have seen a glimpse of "Eff it, I'm retiring anyway" decision-making from Andy Reid in the last 15 minutes.

So many times, I've wondered why Reid didn't go for it on 4th down. And with the defense playing its best half of the season, doing it there... Man.

It's just not going to happen this year for the Kansas City Chiefs. And frankly, I'm okay with that. This organization could benefit from a little shot of urgency through failure. They need to change some things.

New bowl system idea (excluding NY6/CFP) 3 tiers, 8 bowls each A-Tier: $600K to winning team’s NIL fund, split between players (~$6K each) B-Tier: $400K to winners ($4K each) C-Tier: $200K to winners ($2K each) 7 wins for eligibility No money for players who opt out

Not in a football field, but in a potato field No Gatorade on the sidelines, only Guinness After the game a fatted lamb is sacrificed for dinner We’re doing everything official

Alright hear me out K-State and Iowa State form one super team to take on the Notre Dame Fighting Irish in a bowl game that, if victorious, would free both programs of the Dublin curse

Wouldn’t surprise me to see the next era of bowl games look like college basketball’s Players Era tournament. Bowls could offer NIL incentives to the winners. Hard to see the system as we know it surviving at this point.

Just an idea to save conference championship games, improve league title fairness in the age of super conferences, and improve College Football Playoff:

I'm glad they got the Miami/ND situation right, although I'm not sure why it took so long. But man, that 8/9 matchup between OU and Alabama stinks on ice to me. Give me BYU and ND over those teams.

I think this is the start of a needed overhaul to an antiquated bowl system. Cut the number of bowls from 42 to ~30. Require 7 wins for eligibility. For most 6-6 teams, or those undergoing coaching changes, the juice isn't worth the squeeze.

I understand the argument from all sides. In a perfect world, Klieman would have wanted to coach one more game, and the players would have wanted to dump Gatorade on him after a win. But it’s not a perfect world. Onward to the new era. Family business.
Athletics Director Gene Taylor has announced that @KStateFB will not accept a bowl bid for the 2025 season. The Wildcats finished the year with a 6-6 record and qualified for their fifth-straight bowl game and 14th in the last 16 seasons.

Haggerty's first 6 games: 28 PPG, 57% FG, 5.3 RPG, 6.3 APG, 84% FT Last 3 games: 15 PPG, 33% FG, 3.6 RPG, 3.3 APG, 46% FT (!) Bashir has made 6 three-pointers over the last 3 games after making 7 against Nebraska

In what felt like a must-win game to salvage the non-conference schedule, K-State misses *twenty* free throws and loses by 11. Hard to make sense out of the last couple weeks. Still trying to be hopeful but the skepticism is completely fair at this point.
