Today the Senate joined the House in unanimously approving HB 12! 👏We’re grateful to bill sponsors Keith Bell and @TanParkerTX, and we applaud #txlege for passing sound legislation to strengthen Sunset and ensure regulations are effective, efficient, transparent, and up to date!.

HB 12 would improve government efficiency and accountability by strengthening Texas' Sunset review process with more frequent reviews, new measures to assess agency/program effectiveness, and additional public input. We urge the Senate to pass the bill.

Sunset reviews help assess the cost and impact of regs and agency operations. But reviews happen just once every 12 years. Tomorrow Senate B&C will hear HB 12, which would strengthen Sunset with a mid-cycle review, efficiency audits, and more public input.
