Like it or not: Germany’s energy system is fully operational, with more than 50% renewables. And we are shutting down – not building – coal & nuclear plants. Coal will be off the grid by 2038 at the latest. PS: We also don’t eat cats and dogs. #Debate2024

"We couldn't believe that [the region] would spend the time and effort to do this at this point in time and not wait 6 weeks before it became viable crop or an additional couple months to make it into food products we all enjoy." #FightForFarmland #ONpoli

Trump: “Get out and vote just this time. You won't have to do it anymore. Four more years it will be fixed. It'll be fine. You won't have to vote anymore...In four years you don't have to vote again. We'll have it fixed so good your not gonna have to vote.”

Interesting. Highway 413. No design. No budget. No real timeline. “Ontarians may well find that they suffer the environmental and financial costs of this poorly planned and rushed project without any benefits.” #onpoli
A summertime scoop from me! The Ontario government says it’s starting to build Highway 413 next year. But its final design for the project isn’t done, and an internal document shows it has no timeline for finalizing it or finishing the build, which will take over a decade.

A good day. It was incredible to learn how insidious NOSIs had become in Ontario. #onpoli
Today the Ontario NDP took action to ensure that NOSIs are banned. The passage of bill 200 will take over a billion dollars out of the hands of criminals and put an end to these lurking liens on property titles! #onpoli

Ontario: Where the beer store can become a convenience store in order to compete with mom & pop convenience stores that can now sell beer to compete with the Beer Store 👀 But why should this cost taxpayers so much ($225 million) and why is booze such a damn priority? #onpoli
The Ford government is allowing the Beer Store to sell almost anything it wants. The Convenience Store Association isn’t particularly thrilled, neither are opposition leaders who wonder why the chain still neeeds taxpayer $. My story for CityNews at 5&6

🎯 Since 2018, education funding is down $1,357 per student when accounting for inflation; a total of $2.7 billion overall. 💯 Today’s announcement only increases per-student funding by 1.9% this year, well below Budget 2024’s predicted inflation rate of 2.6% #onpoli

Here is the thing about capital gains. It is income. If the person swinging a hammer, or putting in an IV, or growing the food, or teaching your kids has to pay taxes on their full income, why again should millionaire investors not have to pay taxes on 75% of theirs?

Sincere thanks @kthomason for deputing on the “Get it Done Wrong Act” ;) Expropriating 770 prime agricultural land for industrial purposes runs counter to everything WR stands for…and may compromise our future water supply. Democracy still matters in Ontario. #onpoli

Fun fact: When the Conservatives waived $500 MILLION in Developer's Fees, that $$$ is now paid by municipal tax payers (PS - That's YOU!). As your property taxes rise and your municipal services decline, think about how Doug Ford makes YOU pay for HIS well-connected friends!

Ford certainly has kept the courts busy since 2018. One day...we will find out how much this govt spent on lawyers fighting the very people we are elected to serve. #onpoli #Bill124
NEW: Ontario Court of Appeal will on Monday release its ruling on the Ford government's Bill 124 wage cap legislation. A lower court found the bill infringed collective bargaining rights, and struck it down as unconstitutional, but the government appealed. https://t.co/nZd9GaArtA

“We needed a spa to make Ontario Place work, but then we needed parking to make the spa work, but then we needed to move the science centre to make the parking work, but then we needed to demolish the heritage building and fire a bunch of people to make the business case work…”

NEW: The auditor general says the Ford government failed to take account of all costs in its claim that moving the Ontario Science Centre to Ontario Place would save taxpayer money. 👇to read story👇#onpoli

The Ontario Conservatives are basically a criminal organization, channelling public money to friends and family.
Premier Doug Ford's government gives a for-profit clinic more funding to perform certain OHIP-covered surgeries than it gives Ontario's public hospitals to perform the same operations, CBC News has learned. https://t.co/SWIVPenLlH .

Ford's failure to trust cities to do our job is what drove me to run to be MPP. After the Greenbelt Scandal, we deserve to know the motives behind his forced expansion of our urban boundaries. I'll always put the interests of Kitchener residents first. https://t.co/ZwnJjojzvH
