A glimpse BTS @BlueBarrelCider who helped harvest apples from Coton Orchard this autumn to make cider blended with their Arcadia Orchard apples. Working with nature in mind, no pesticides & community centred because @TreesAreGoodCIC for #Biodiversity. #SaveOurOrchards 🌳🍐🍎🐝🍻

Celebrate #Nationaltreeweek by planting a tree. What better way to celebrate it by planting a fruit tree #growingfruitforpeopleandplanet

#NationalTreeWeek marks the start of the tree planting season and is an opportunity to celebrate the many benefits trees bring to our towns and cities. Naturally, if you're going to plant a tree to mark the occasion, we'd recommend you make it a fruit tree 🍏 @TheTreeCouncil

@BonkersBusway @NTGates @UK_Orch_Network @TreesAreGoodCIC @PTES @ProjectOrchard @orchardsproject Seeing the care taken by orchardists like Leo; researching varieties, choosing rootstock, grafting, planting & most importantly caring for the saplings as they take root and establish, underlines how β€œmitigation planting” is just #greenwashing #SaveCotonOrchard

@NTGates @UK_Orch_Network Allow traditional orchards to grow, with new trees coming up beside the old to take over #biodiversity. Doing exactly this is @TreesAreGoodCIC 🌳🍎🍐 Growing fruit #trees for people & planet πŸ’š

Brilliant day @BonkersBusway Coton Orchard harvesting bramleys from the veteran trees which would be destroyed with the proposed bus way. This place is a haven for wildlife it would be tragic if the development went ahead #savecotonorchard #growingfruitforpeopleandplanet

Some people have been asking why at β€œonly” 100 years old Coton Orchard is being called β€œancient”. Steve Oram @PTES #Biodiversity Officer walks along the proposed C2C busway path & explains what makes traditional orchards an irreplaceable habitat #SaveCotonOrchard 🍎🍐🌳🚌❌

@CambsCC can you explain why multiple trees, hedge and shrubs removed from Cambridge /Histon Rd by allotments on 100m stretch last night? 1. Bird nesting season! and 2. For what purpose? Part of GCP Histon Rd scheme? No more habitat destruction please
