Better Bus also means better bus shelters. We changed the way we do bus shelters so we can do them for significantly less cost, get more shelters completed & have them done faster. Team is focused on all elements to improve the customer experience.

New year, new elevators! 🛗 Two modernized elevators are now open at Parkchester station on the 6, as part of a larger project to improve accessibility at the station. Two additional ADA-compliant staircases and an accessible fare array are expected to open this year.

Just realized that the 50km end to end travel time of the Montreal REM is the same as the 10km end to end travel time of Toronto's Finch W Tramway (55 min).
The Finch W Tram experienced it's 1st rush hour and the speed was... disappointing. For those keeping track, 10.3km in 55 mins is an average speed of 11kph or a semi-pro jogging pace. Seems the Finch W trams operational performance is a scandal among scandals in Toronto now.

They are a great alternative for the last mile at many of our stations, but we are more than happy to help people save money and time.
Waymo costs $97 more (13× the price) and still 9 minutes slower than Caltrain on the same San Francisco → Palo Alto route (despite having Waymo freeway access and this Caltrain being local)

I have tried and failed for a decade to capture this view in #Pittsburgh, and this morning I was finally able to. In this scene, the Duquesne Incline passes above the train tracks right as a Norfolk Southern train was going underneath it. Can't believe my luck that it worked out.

As of right now, for the first time all Metrobus riders can pay with a credit/debit card or phone/watch linked to a credit/debit card. Metro is holding an event launching “Tap. Ride. Go.” for bus. #wmata began allowing riders to pay for Metrorail with credit cards in May.
