Got shown this data today, just 5% of black/mixed black British applicants to anaesthetics received offers. Compared to approx 50% of white applicants. Are black applicants really 10x worse than their white counterparts? make of it what you will… #MedTwitter

Couldn’t agree more with this and I don’t think it’s discriminatory to say so before anyone comes for me, it’s what most other countries in the world do, I’m not sure why it’s any different here 😔.
We need to prioritise home graduates. COI: I am a home graduate 🤣. In all seriousness, until we prioritise our home graduates it will cause further anger/negativity towards IMGs. The system is at fault not our IMG colleagues.

Honestly since rotating to Anaesthetics, I enjoy going to work every day, don’t feel burnt out and it flies by, plus my mum keeps saying how happy I sound on our commuting phonecalls! Is this a sign 🧐 😬.
