I only had three drinks last night but I took a drink that was intended for a woman friend of mine and that's the last thing I remember all night.
Definitely got roofied.
This shit is not ok.
What the fuck is wrong with people?
Sarah lost her battle with cancer yesterday. She was 32.
I've spent hours just scrolling through pictures, reliving our memories in my head.
I'm grateful to have been surrounded by those who share in my love for Sarah when it happened.
In my opinion:
If you’re 30+ and single you should have one main focus in life:
Winning your local fighting game tournament.
Ahead of your career, your health, social life, everything.
Winning a tournament and building a life with a great main character is the most rewarding…
In my opinion:
If you’re 30+ and single you should have one main focus in life:
Find a spouse and have kids.
Ahead of your career, your health, social life, everything.
Having kids and building a life with a great partner is the most rewarding thing in life and nothing else…
This wonderful lady by the gamertag of Tinker entered the UMvC3 bracket at CEO this weekend.
Getting to watch her play made me so happy that it brought me to tears. Our community is so great. I love Marvel so much. I hope we never have to stop playing.
#MarvelForever
The fgc wouldn't be as far as it is today without the work of this man. He's had a huge impact in the community as a whole, and so many of us on an individual basis.
I still remember, November 20th, 2020, when we were just starting out with TNS, and he was gracious enough to…
ROUND OF APPLAUSE FOR THE AMAZING
@maximilian_
HE HAS BEEN AT THE FOREFRONT OF THE FGC COMMUNITY WITH HIS ENTERTAINING AND EDUCATIONAL STREAMS. HE EARNED THE WIN FOR THIS YEAR’S LEGACY AWARD! THANK YOU FOR YOUR OUTSTANDING CONTENT! <3
Honored to announce I have accepted the role as Head of Tournament Operations for
@Evo
2024.
Thanks to everyone in the community that has supported me over the years, and to those who mentored and taught me so much along the way.
Hoping to make you all proud.
I'm trying to understand what is happening right now.
For now, I'll just say, thank you.
All the players and viewers who have been supporting UMvC3, this is because of you.
Last week, my wife was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer.
Sarah is strong. She knows that she can fight through this and I believe in her.
I'm going to do everything I can to help her win this battle. I hope that you can lend her your support as well.
Its weird to say, but I'm glad it happened to me instead of one of my friends.
I've never felt more powerless, not being able to speak a name, because I don't have tangible "proof"
I'm more mad that women regularly have to go through this, more than anything else.
Dating is like bracket.
If you've ask a girl to go out two times, and she declines both times, that means you're eliminated.
Just blame it on seeding and your character being low tier.
Dear low/mid level players,
Just playing a bunch of casuals/friendlies, even against top players is not enough to help you improve. Asking for advice afterwards isn't going to help much either. You're not an anime character, you can't learn everything from getting your ass beat.
A couple of weeks before Sarah passed, she wanted to use the VR headset.
I didn't think much of it and brought it to her.
Days later, she wanted me to watch something on it. It was a VR walk through of the cherry blossom festival at the same place we had gone to, years ago.
45% of the players signed up for sf6 and mk1 at ceotaku.
CEO lost money. CEOtaku isn't paying the bills to keep it going.
Should we not have those two games and risk losing the whole event as a whole going forward?
Why does ceo and jebailey always get the brunt of criticism…
Four years later, TNS is returning to host our own in-person event. Believe it!
24 hour venue, karaoke, spelling bee, & maybe even some fighting games. Same venue as CEOtaku.
Help us out, save money, and sign up early.
Register now and book your rooms
You don't have to be a top player, a famous caster, big event organizer, or content creator to provide value to the community or to be included.
You're a part of the FGC just by showing up, or watching from home, or just playing ranked. The ecosystem needs all of us.
My phone has some of the most important memories of my life, including 10 years of photos of someone that I love, that's currently struggling with stage 4 cancer.
Like, think about what you're taking from someone when you take their phone.
Please just return it.
Absolutely the greatest honor of my life, not just to receive this award, but along with two of the men that have mentored me and I've looked up to for years.
Thank you to the entire community, I wouldn't be here without your love and support.
If there was ever a reason to bring back the Cannon Awards, it would be this.
Congratulations and thank you for everything you do for the community,
@TongNeverSleeps
@Jebailey
@TheHadou
!
I just checked with my friend who had a sip of it and she felt something was off and made it back safely to her room.
Personally, I'm angry, disgusted, and a bit shook up.
Just calculated I've been streaming Strive tourneys for 35 weeks at a net loss of $2k
I'm definitely not the only online TO that loses money. Many have lost even more.
Shoutouts to all the TOs that keep the FGC going, big and small. Y'all the goats.
iOvrthk attended TNS this past weekend.
I was aware of the financial fraud in 2016 and them being legally punished for it.
What I was not aware of was the sexual allegations against iOvrthk a couple years later.
I've reached out to those who are familiar with the situation to…
Tomorrow is Sarah's birthday and the first one she's not here for. She would have been 33.
It would make me very happy if you could all wish her a happy birthday. Since I can't buy her a gift, I'll gift 3 random people $100 that do so.
Even if you don't want the money, it…
Fuck Andrew Yang and Elizabeth Warren for being sellouts and trying to say positive stuff about Bernie, only after he dropped out, to gain the support of his following for the future.
This betrayal will not be forgotten and you two will never be president either.
Sarah's breathing but unresponsive, so I don't know if she can still hear me but I still make sure to remind her as often as possible that I love her, just as we have for the past 12 years when we were best friends or husband and wife.
It is 10am in Texas
We're supposed to start top 8 for Strive.
Half my bracket is missing.
We'll just DQ everyone by 10:20am if I can't play any matches on stream.
If you hear that Strive top 8 turns into Strive top 4 at DreamHack, just know I tried my best to be lenient.
Sarah and I were able to have countless enjoyable experiences together, and even though there were more things we wanted to do, I will cherish what we shared forever.
I look forward to sharing more of her with you as I’m able to.
Thank you everyone from the bottom of my heart.
Granblue Fantasy: Versus RISING is coming to PS4/PS5 and Steam this year!
This updated version of the game will come with Crossplay between all systems, rollback netcode, new stages and of course..NEW CHARACTERS!
Sarah's condition has recently taken a turn for the worst. I will be spending the remaining time I can with her.
I have a lot of people counting on me, and Sarah wouldn't want me to let anyone down, so I'll make sure the essentials get done, but please do be understanding.
More proof that the FGC will always be family.
We were able to raise over $2k today thanks to your support.
Thanks to all the players and viewers for being a part of the event and making this possible.
You're still making a difference in this world, Sarah. I love you.
Couple weeks ago, someone saw me at Publix with my TNS shirt on and told me he's a frequent viewer of the stream and asked me if I watch pretty regularly.
My brother in christ, it's me, I'm TNS.
Before I get too deep into my workday, I want to say something.
To all the attendees of the event, the viewers at home, event partners, artists, thank you.
Thank you for taking a chance on
#TNS9
Thank you for taking a chance on me.
To the hardworking team of TOs, production,…
I’m not writing to just be sad. I’m hoping, by writing, that even if you may not remember her beyond today, I could honor her by telling you a little about the most wonderful person I’ve known, and if you have a special person in your life, that you cherish them even more.
I really really love my job.
To every competitor, spectator, volunteer, staff member, production, commentator, vendor, and everyone in between, thank you all from the bottom of my heart.
The FGC will always be my home and have my heart.
TOs don't get enough love sometimes for all the work they put into their community. Especially at the local level.
Say some kind words, buy them a drink, help them setup, any kind gesture will do.
Let them know you appreciate them today.
She loved harder than anyone I’ve ever met.
She brought people together, and could light up a room with her infectious joy, finding happiness in every situation. Sarah believed in the celebration of life all the way ‘til the end. It’s just how she lived in our 12 years together.
I see the name thing trending on the timeline, and I just want to say I think it's weird when people think it's weird to call them by their actual name.
Like, sorry, if we're in public, I'm not about to refer to another adult as DarkHokage69
I know I talked about it on stream but have yet to share the good news with everyone here.
Sarah's chemo has been going well and she's able to have surgery soon.
Words cannot express my gratitude for the support you all have shown us in these past few months.
I love you all.
She is out of surgery and in recovery.
They removed the cancerous section of her colon, reconnected it, and reversed her colostomy.
They removed 30% of her liver, lymph nodes, and a tumor in the abdomen.
She'll be spending the night in ICU.
Thank you friends for your support.
Even after life, I realize her love is still here, and I can continue to share her love with the world.
I learned from all the love she gave me, so all of the people I love are receiving some of Sarah’s love as well.
There's a hint of Sarah in every act of kindness from me.
It starts in the lab, learning and continuously practicing your fundamentals. Grinding combos to muscle memory and doing drills. Recording/watching your matches to analyze more objectively instead of going by memory. This is even better if you have someone better than you to help
Pity party and sad boy stuff is over.
I just want things to be the best they can for everyone.
Thank you all for always having my back and all the kind words.
Time to celebrate and enjoy the moment.
This weekend has been the best of my life.
She was adventurous. She was sentimental. She was silly and she was precious.
She would always support me in everything I did and believed in me so much that I actually felt I could achieve anything.
She was such a multifaceted person and I'll probably talk about her forever.
She cared so much about sharing her experiences with others.
She was able to sneak away for one last trip to Disney a week ago, with family and friends, and she cared about making sure everyone else got to have a good time than herself, even though she knew it was her last time.
Sarah cared for me so much throughout our journey, that it changed me as a person.
We grew and matured together. She taught me how it feels to be truly loved and encouraged me to take care of others. It’s helped me become the person that I hope she’s proud of.
I'm a big proponent for in-person events. At this point, I'm involved in running many of the biggest FGC events in the country. Most of the money I use to support TNS comes from doing in-person events.
But to say that tours should do away with online events is ludicrous. Not…
I don't need a new social media service.
When twitter eventually becomes unusable, I'm just gonna go outside and start randomly yelling "sign up for Marvel at Evo" until everyone blocks me.
