High school and youth sports are so valuable because they get at our basic psychological needs: -We belong -We can make progress -We can have an impact It's not about achievements. It's having a space to challenge ourselves in a healthy way. Don't ruin sports, parents!

It certainly was a rollercoaster of emotions. Have to say the officials were brilliant for maintaining calm in an emotional situation & reviewing all the evidence thoroughly! All the other athletes, coaches & BA staff were very supportive… Heart rate finally back to normal🎢 🙃
For those asking. Alastair Chalmers was reinstated in the Men’s 400mh. He is Paris bound after running a PB & QTime under protest after being DQ’d. He is set to become an Olympian like his coach @mattelias400h and his brother Cameron who both ran in 4x4 teams! #teamgb

🇬🇬 ISLAND & ALL-COMERS RECORD! 📣 Abi Galpin was the only Guernsey woman to go sub-56 over 400m but today she broke into the 5️⃣4️⃣s with an incredible performance of 54.96 👏 🔥 She also beat the all-comers record set by England U20 athlete Emma Alderson in 2018

Talent doesn't always express itself right away. Some people's talent is that they are a high responder to training/learning. They need to spend the time doing the work before they can fully express their gift. We tend to overvalue those who show great initial promise.

Morning reflections … it’s staggering/sad how many quality athletes have been carrying out workouts/sessions but have never been COACHED! Many don’t even realise they aren’t 🙈 It’s a two-way process of course, both coach and athlete have to be willing to learn from each other
