Great ICUsteps Harlow meeting tonight by @TobyTrundle, our critical care Dietician. Covering all things nutrition when critically ill, and during the recovery phase @ICUsteps. Really important for survivors to understand what happened to them in terms of nutrition.

The great majority of adults have been vaccinated. Four weeks working on a COVID ward makes stark the reality that the majority of our hospitalised COVID patients are unvaccinated and regret delaying. Some are very sick including young adults. Please don't delay your vaccine.

NHS staff need your support now more than ever. But since the last #clapforheroes over 650 frontline healthcare workers have died. This time, instead of clapping for NHS staff will you maybe just stay at home for them instead? 🙏🏻 Stay at home 🏠 Protect the NHS 🏥 Save lives 💙

Great to hear on @BBCNews this morning that GP’s are able to prescribe free Vit. D supplements to those considered vulnerable. We know that 1/10 of the elderly population are malnourished in the UK, #dietitians make sure you #communicate with your patients GP #vitamind #COVID19

Fascinating morning so far and some great presentations. Looking forward to the intestinal failure session this afternoon - some further discussion around nutritional management would be great 🙏

No one size fits all when it comes to long term nutrition and ileostomy’s, everyone is different! If your ostomy is new then be sure to reintroduce fibrous foods gradually, starting with softer foods which are easy to digest. Build gradually over 6-8 weeks. Ask your dietitian 🍎
