It's weird how little climate change features in tv shows, films, songs or books Most of our popular culture seems to be set in a world almost identical to this one, but which isn't in the midst of a planetary emergency

🤩 We are thrilled to announce that we have secured £5,000 from @thetudortrust to further our Justice, Equity, Diversity & Inclusion (JEDI) work🤩 We will now be able to start making the systemic shifts within our org that are needed to enable us to make meaningful changes ⚖️

Let’s not be left behind as a city by the likes of Amsterdam, which has already pledged to be 100% circular in the built environment by 2050!

We have asked @BristolCouncil for a site where we can store materials we reclaim from around the city & bioregion, preventing them from ending up in landfill. This site could be shared with all Community-Led Housing groups to collaborate on @StephenPDale @MarvinJRees @TomRenhard

Our first Tiny House Cohousing Regenerative Settlement in Sea Mills, Bristol, we will be repurposing virtually all materials that are already on site, including the four current buildings. We are working with Jenny Ford from Materials in Mind as our Circular Economy consultant.

We find it shocking that currently there are no widely agreed circular economy metrics for the built environment. This needs to change and fast! It’s a key way to help reach net zero and slow the irresponsible way we currently utilise precious resources.

Our approach to National Space Standards is within 3 frameworks/models: 1) Regenerative Settlements 2) Co-housing (+communal spaces) 3) Community-Led Housing (not-for-profit) where prospective residents designing/building their homes choose 2 live the principles of the movement💚

Your friendly reminder that humans are actually quite good at governing the commons... as we routinely demonstrate with the formation of prosocial groups doing regenerative work. https://t.co/O8a85lDs6m

Far from being profoundly destructive, we humans have deep capacities for sharing resources with generosity and foresight

A wonderful and comprehensive article explaining how we’re all developing our grassroots organisations and projects in the city. It’s exciting work, with many challenges along the way, but we’re getting there together. Power to the People!!!

Bristol's community-led housing schemes can't hope to solve the city's housing crisis – but what impact can they have for local people?

We're leading the way but crucially we need more investment and support A great piece on the groups we have supported and the wins and the challenges going forward. CLH needs more land and funding and finance! #whereischf @bristoclt @BristolCouncil https://t.co/mN1ifEHnYh

The way politics currently works is utterly not fit for purpose. We need to find multiple ways of raising funds to enable our work. Also we get a “there’s no money for CLH.” from our metro mayor, and no will to help us bring some in. Rubbish!

The 6th housing minister within a year. It is impossible for us to get any decisions out of government with such frequent reshuffles. The consequence? 100s of #communityledhousing groups unable to progress affordable homes for lack of funding. Infuriating.

Somewhere, very near you, is a tiny being, just going about their day. They don’t care about you, or me, nor any of our worries. And I find so much comfort in that 💚🐌
