Abundance is both the goal and the enemy. Scarcity is both the enemy and the goal. The solutions to problems give rise to new problems. The problems are soluble.

The only downside of pronoia is excessive pain tolerance, which is in itself more of a virtue than a vice.

Communism is the deformed and retarded offspring of abundance and envy. Capitalism is the beautiful and genius child of scarcity and merit.

Mamdani’s skinny-fat physique (narrow shoulders, chunky hips, bulging belly) is the physiognomy of communism: no productive work that builds muscles, all redistribution that collects fat.

If you never give up you never fail. If you wait to get started you always fail. If you improve every day you cannot lose. If you take it easy you’ve already lost.

Truth comes from markets, nature, solitude, true peers. Someone else’s truth from these sources might count but better to find out yourself. People often lie and swear it’s truth because they wish it were true. Or they can’t live with the real truth.

If you're looking to others for the truth, you're not getting the truth. The only truth that matters is the truth that you find not what others tell you. Stop expecting others to do your homework in finding information. If you're being given information, that ain't the truth.

If you are not terribly betrayed by friends and family every decade or so you are probably trusting too little. If it happens more often than that, you are likely trusting too much.

Voluntary hunger (fasting), soreness of all muscles (from straining), walking by choice when you could ride, and creating (vs consuming) new things out of joy vs necessity when you have all you need: hallmarks of the good life in a world of surfeit abundance.
