Okay, the Guyana president has a pretty good point here.
Guyana's economy is booming after discovering oil. The president of Guyana shut down a BBC "reporter" who was preaching about climate change. https://t.co/c2Up40FpYH

Having spent 2 tours in Haiti, including two peacekeeping operations with U.S. forces, I sadly feel that 1,000 well intentioned policemen will be totally overwhelmed. Deadly day in Port-au-Prince with the future looking bleak. IC really needs to come up with something better.
Kenya and Haiti sign agreement on the deployment of 1,000 police officers to the Multi-National Security Support Mission in Haiti.

Venezuelan army has not fought a war in more than a century. No one I've ever met finds them near any kind of fighting shape.
venezuela threatening military action against guyana, with maduro holding a referendum today that will pass easily. mostly bluster for a deeply unpopular dictator. the direct border is impenetrable—militarily maduro would have to go through brazil. and china, venezuela’s

I learned a lot from this excellent story by @marybsheridan: How TikTokers and Swifties became political power brokers in Guatemala
washingtonpost.com
They helped get an anti-corruption reformer elected president. But with weeks still to go before the inauguration, some of them are getting arrested.

Spent entire tours working with the U.S. military in the past. I frequently interact with active duty soldiers today. I have never seen a more prepared, skilled and motivated force as I do today. Oh, and by the way, lethal, very lethal. Embarrassing comments from the Senator.

This is government-sanctioned theft of a home. Total lack of rule of law.

Extraordinarily sad day for Nicaragua's students, educators --for the whole country, really

I burst out laughing at some of this amusing story about 'awkward' Ron DeSantis

But do they like what they see?

All interesting. But I must be out of sync with general public. I would always prefer a Target over a Walmart
4/ Half the adults in American shop at Walmart every week — 150 million US shoppers a week. And if you were just judging the US economy and the mood of the US consumer by Walmart's results, you'd feel pretty good. Sales up. Profits up. Profit margin up. On-line sales soaring.
