The Trudeau Government failed Nova Scotians today by forcing a carbon tax on our province when fuel and heating costs are at an all-time high.
Nova Scotians will remember.

I can't express how angry I was when officials informed me six illegal burns were reported last night.
Stop lighting fires. Stop flicking cigarette butts out the window. Let's all smarten up and protect our resources.

The Liberal carbon tax increase on April 1st will be painful for Nova Scotians. I wrote to the Prime Minister today calling on him to cancel the carbon tax hike.
Thank you for showing me what it means to be a husband and father.
I miss your calmness. Your kindness.
Love you Dad.
Rest in Peace. Your work here is done.
In Nova Scotia, we build roads. We'd prefer the federal government work with us to get them built, but we'll continue to build up Nova Scotia either way.
The federal carbon tax is not working for Nova Scotians. I'm joining Premiers across the country in calling on the Prime Minister to convene a First Ministers' meeting to discuss the impact of the carbon tax on our economy and Nova Scotians.
My first call as Premier-designate this morning was with Dr. Strang to discuss public health and the safety of Nova Scotians as we move forward together.

Nova Scotians are environmentalists at heart. We do what we can to protect the planet, and this carbon tax won’t do it.

We have multiple fires raging across Nova Scotia at this time. Please pay attention to emergency alerts in the areas impacted.
Water bombers have arrived from NB and NL to provide additional support and have been actively working on the fires for the last hour.
Travelling by plane from Yarmouth or Sydney to Halifax will take about an hour, compared to five by ambulance, and be more comfortable for patients.
The plane will carry two to four patients per trip and begin service next week with three round trips daily.
That means up to 12…
Today I wrote to the Chair of the House of Commons Standing Committee on Finance requesting to appear before the committee to explain how the April 1st carbon tax hike will negatively impact Nova Scotians.
Our teams of firefighters and first responders continue to battle the fires today. I'm so grateful for the incredible work they are doing throughout the province. Thank you.
We also have support from out of province and are actively working to secure more.

An inspiring journey of WWII bravery and unwavering love. Charlie, a WWII veteran, turned 102 on August 3rd and Annie celebrated her 101st birthday in January. Congratulations and best wishes always!
