1/2 The National Care Service Bill was billed as ‘the biggest public sector reform since devolution’. It followed an independent review of adult social care which made recommendations shaped by the experiences and contributions of people who have experience of social care...

3/3👉  This UK Government decision will have a disproportionate, negative effect on women in work, given that over 80% of the social care workforce is female. A catastrophic blow for our sector, our workforce and for the people we support – our friends, family and neighbours.

2/3 👉 Est. £30M annual additional cost for non-profit, CCPS member, social care providers in Scotland. 👉  Over 80% of CCPS members already delivering public contracts despite a deficit budget. 👉  Nearly 40% of CCPS members declining, or not taking on new, support services.

1/3 For the many non-profits and charities commissioned to deliver these vital public services, like Thistle, there are no costs left to save. The UK Government (@DHSCgovuk , @RachelReevesMP is putting these services at risk.
