@ASMicrobiology – Not in the mood to read all 300 pages of the @theNASciences report out yesterday linking soil health to human health. @kaliknei and I will break it down, focusing on all things microbe. Come join us #ASMicrobe ! MTE 515 pm tonight, B304. https://t.co/NfWJwx0Rt6

Had a lot of fun writing this Nat Microbio News & Views piece w/ @MaggieSogin! Check out our thoughts regarding the work by the @TheWrightonLab about the talented microbiome & rethinking the enzyme latch theory. https://t.co/GdSLtdBPOS

(3/n) Many questions remain (ex. the rates? the fate of polyphenol carbon?)-- but to answer these, we first needed to know what was happening! To facilitate discovery, we provide CAMPER for users to more easily 'see' polyphenol genes in their datasets.

This is a repository for CAMPER. Contribute to WrightonLabCSU/CAMPER development by creating an account on GitHub.

(2/n) We showed microbial polyphenol metabolism is more dynamic than previously thought, likely involving multiple enzymes and oxygen-dependent and independent pathways. We also ID'ed 'talented' microbial genomes that seemed to be well equipped for using polyphenols in the field.

Out now in @NatureMicrobiol, from @bmcgivern13 and the @EMERGE_BII team. We investigated a long held view in peatland systems- the enzyme latch theory- from a microbial perspective. @doescience @NSF @CSUAgSci (1/n) https://t.co/XdLBSCTPUd
