Most of us are very much are aware that the government should just be sending us a bill to review, but when we tried to do that, one of the corporations that make tax software lobbied to kill that. And they've consistently stood in the way of free e-filing of taxes, too.
So how many Americans realize having to “do your taxes” isn’t actually normal? . Most countries’ governments figure out each person’s tax responsibility FOR them and then take it out of their paychecks automatically, without people having to do anything extra, and that’s that.
