https://t.co/nPK3DhqYKp Hi, @TheSystemMic. Omar mentions you and Jack Sass Band in this interview, at minute 21 or so. This interview is actually great, with references to Queens, NY and all its legends .cc @NaradaMWalden @OmarHakimMusic

This should have MANY more likes & retweets than it does. Billy Cobham is one of the most consequential drummer/composers EVER. So called "blast" drumming doesn't EXIST without his double kick influence on the backbeat. His use of live triggered electronics, his raw physicality,

Today I'm wishing the happiest of birthdays to Mr. Billy Cobham, a man I am always happy to speak with, and a musician I have had the pleasure of recording with more than 50 times over the years. Welcome to the world of octogenarians! Listen to us here: https://t.co/Shmr17oBTH

@keithandes @DOAPlaylist @TheSystemMic Mic is a legend & I can see how you two get along. Thanks for sharing your story, Keith. Great to learn about that bass riff on Facts of Love. On a Casio, no less. Ha. I have a lot of records made with/ by you.

So sorry to hear that we’ve lost Rudolph Isley of the legendary #IsleyBrothers. Musical excellence since 1954. Most people that can make that claim were in that group. My deepest condolences to his family, friends and fans around the world. RIP my brother. πŸ™πŸΎπŸ•ŠοΈ

@darlingnisi @prince19582016 TRUTH. How many times in 1988, or whenever, did i listen 2 "Billy's Sunglasses" off of some crazy CD collection called "Controversial", or something, sounding like it was recorded from across the warehouse... Xtremely good pointπŸ’œ

In 1986, Miles Davis was a guest on a show called "Time Out" where a quartet of young cats played a song for him. Afterwards, Miles asked the trumpet player, "What's your organ players name?" Joey DeFrancesco, Happy Heavenly Birthday. You are truly missed.

Japanese sources are reporting that Yukihiro Takahashi, the former Yellow Magic Orchestra drummer and lead vocalist, has died. He was 70. He had an operation to remove a brain tumour in 2020, and in 2021 revealed further health problems. A sad loss of a prolific talent.

I have just heard the sad news about a one off, single minded, talented lady. A privilege to have rubbed shoulders with her in the mid β€˜70s at the birth of punk and the waves it created that still resound today for the disaffected. My thoughts are with her friends and family.
