The amount of radar knowledge crammed into this guy's brain seriously freaks me out If you enjoy deep dives into radar imagery - including how much radar can actually see - I highly suggest you follow him!
2013/05/20 Moore, OK EF5 tornado, in extraordinarily high temporal resolution, as seen from KTLX, NOP4, MPAR, and PX1K spliced together. Probably the stupidest one of these I've done so far but damn if it's not cool. Still a little flashier than I'd like but it's hard to really

Obvious wavenumber-5 mesovortex pattern within Hurricane Melissa’s eyewall earlier today — when the simulation matches reality. Just two decades ago, the very existence of mesovortices was still a matter of debate.

Don’t forget that the talented, dedicated meteorologists at the NHC/NOAA have provided accurate and life saving forecasts and recon data for Melissa while not getting paid and lacking resources due to the government shutdown. Weather never stops and neither does our mission.

Melissa’s eye from Sentinel-2 but enhanced (cooked) - you can actually see the breaking waves in the pocket of ocean.
The Sentinel-2 satellite captured this image of Melissa's eye at peak intensity. 10m pixel resolution - one of the best satellite images ever captured of a hurricane of this intensity. Image from 16z this morning.

More views. Note that only about half the storm was captured - we got fortunate with the placement of the eye for imagery Look at the mseovortices and waves in the eye!
