You’re asking two things. 1) why do we have immigration laws, which is too silly to field as an honest question but obviously for matters of public health, public safety, and national security. 2) why do you care if someone is illegal? Well for starters they bypassed all of
"I'm ok with legal immigrants. I'm just against illegal immigrants". Ok, but why is it so important to classify immigration as illegal? We could legalize it and then problem solved. But your issue isn't really some neutral procedural "Laws are laws" concern.

@GreggBell13 They have the right to arrest people. Not to detain them. They need to verbally issue an order of an arrest and perform the arrest. Otherwise, if it is not a matter of immigration, and you are not ordered under arrest, you are not subject to ICE jurisdiction.
