Milestone alert!🚨They said it couldn't be done. Well friends WE ARE HAPPY TO ANNOUNCE WE HAVE SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETED OVER TWO THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED TRIPS SO FAR IN NEW YORK CITY AND WE ARE JUST GETTING THIS PARTY STARTED!!! 🚨✊🏿✊🏾✊🏽✊🏼✊🏻✊
Ditching Uber and Lyft for a driver-owned rideshare app? Giving your money directly to local workers instead of a nightmarish network of venture capitalists? Not a bad idea.🤔
What makes Co-op Ride different than other ridehailing apps? Last Friday, we distributed shares to our driver/owners during a ceremony in the Bronx.
Drivers steer our company, and benefit financially from growth. Venture capitalists can take a hike (or Uber/Lyft).
Our app, Co-op Ride, is ready to download for New Yorkers!
❓Why use Co-op Ride?
✅Consistent, cheaper pricing
✅Build worker power
✅Experienced drivers from your community
✅Keep wealth local to NYC
There's a new worker-owned rideshare app in NYC and drivers are reporting making a lot more money per ride than Uber or Lyft.
In addition to making about 10% more each ride,
@TheDriversCoop
profits also go back to the drivers.
We are a tiny worker co-op, and our drivers have a $30/hr. minimum wage. Meanwhile, the federal minimum wage has been $7.25/hr. for 13 years and most drivers don't even have a guarantee of that. Get it together America you can do better
Happy Labor Day! We are happy to announce our first international partnership, with Cotabo in Bologna. Today we set an intention🔮: to build the cooperative future with the power of FEDERATION🌐✨If you are a transportation co-op, get in touch. Workers of the world unite!🤝=💪
Incredible! In only 7 days we are over halfway to our goal of raising $1.07 million to revolutionize rideshare thru worker ownership! We are so grateful for the 433 individuals who have helped us raise $592,000 in just 1 week!
Check it out and chip in! 👇
took my first ever
@TheDriversCoop
ride today, to the airport. My driver told me he was getting 3x the profit than he would with Lyft, and the ride was cheaper for me. download and use it!
WE DID IT!! *Thank you* to the 800+ individuals and our friends
@start_coop
who helped us hit our goal of over ONE 👏 MILLION 👏 DOLLARS for 100% driver-owned rideshare!! 🌈 💫 ✊ We hit our first goal, but you can still invest to help us grow beyond NYC:
Interesting! Try Co-op Ride, the driver-owned ridehailing app. Turns out when you *don’t* blow millions of dollars on trying to destroy workers rights in the United States, drivers can make more *and* riders can pay less. Check it out!
NEW PROMO! We are offering free rides to jail for the corporate executives responsible for robbing hardworking drivers every day. PROMO CODE: LABORCREATESALLWEALTH
Another Lyft payment from last night. The passenger paid $180.43. The driver was paid $63.10. That's *35%*
From this, drivers pay: vehicle, gas, repairs, maintenance, insurance, licensing, parking, etc.
Now imagine how much companies pay on non-storm nights.
Hello world! The last 6 weeks have been a wild ride!
✅ 2500+ trips

Co-ops like CHOMP in Iowa City and the
@TheDriversCoop
in NYC are taking on gig companies and winning simply by fulfilling the promises of "independence" and "flexibility" that
@Grubhub
and
@Uber
failed to live up to. You love to see it.
Imagine amassing billions in capital and assembling a global dream team of engineers… and using those resources to exploit workers as much as possible. As we say in New York City: FOH.
When New York's Taxi and Limousine commission forced Uber to hand over platform-level data, they found that 96% of the City's 80,00 drivers were making less than its minimum wage.
When wages were brought up, $225m a month went back into the local economy.
‼️ 353 co-op supporters have invested over $250,000 in The Drivers Cooperative in just four days! 😮 🤩 🥰
Cooperatives are the future 🌈 RT if you agree!
We got this 💪 Invest in workers!
We are proud to provide a $30/hr. minimum wage for our members who provide essential services for New York City, and we are proud to call on all drivers to STRIKE against Uber tomorrow. Don't support a company that won't support you!
🚨NYC: Do NOT use Uber this Monday, Dec 19th!
Local drivers won a raise that was set to kick in 12/19. Uber sued to stop it, despite hiking prices 37% higher than they did in 2019.
How to help:
- Turn off your Uber app on Monday,
- Use another service, &
- SPREAD THE WORD! 🚘💰
Rather than thank its gig workers,
@UberEats
is advertising Labor Day beverage deliveries, stating that no labor is involved in those deliveries.

"I want to know that when I need to take a car, I am contributing to our community and that workers are empowered."
We reached our floor of $50k in less than 8 hours! 🎉We are so grateful for your support and confidence. Onward to our goal of $1 million to build the worker-owned ridehailing platform of the future!

@FD_coop_NY
Yes, we are not adding new cars to the road. Our members are the same drivers and vehicles you hail from Uber, Lyft, and other companies. We’re working on some ideas right now to point toward a bigger systemic shift... we’ll have more for you soon on that!
Many have asked if they can donate to the co-op instead of invest. Today we're happy to announce a new way to support The Drivers Cooperative: donate to fund Organizing Fellowships for NYC drivers, and our friends
@ioby
will match up to $1000! Take a look👇
Our Wall St. competitors sell off equity at pyramid-scheme “IPOs," where they bilk the public into paying off investors.
Our model is different. Our members get one share each, and share in profits based on the work they put into the co-op-- because all wealth comes from labor.
Well that was nice. Comparable wait time and lower price than Uber and Lyft, and the driver and I talked about cooperative governance and worker organizing the whole time.
Co-op drivers are in solidarity with the fight for a $25/hr minimum wage! Big companies that say they can't do it are lying. Today we are proud to announce that The Drivers Cooperative is increasing pay on our main Access-a-Ride routes to $30/hr. Cooperation creates abundance! 🥰
People ask us what makes a co-op different. It’s one member, one share, one vote, and 100% driver ownership.
Check out this news coverage of our share distribution event in the Bronx.
@CBSNewYork
@CHCANY
We had to create a whole new financing vehicle to raise capital while maintaining 100% worker ownership. Luckily we know about vehicles🚗 and our lawyer
@elcesqllc
knows about financing 💸. We're raising money to grow! You can help! Read about it here 👇
EXCLUSIVE: A new worker-owned Uber competitor promoted by
@AOC
and other progressives is seeking to raise over $1 million from investors, drivers and everyday people. With
@thesimonetti
@nir_III
@jasonpjason
@TheDriversCoop
is 100% driver-owned (and all financing has been revenue-based financing), vs. Juno raised from traditional VC, promised drivers would eventually own 50% of the equity, but never upheld that
I wanted to backed this up yesterday but I couldn't find the screenshots until this morning. You can see my battery is at 18% and the ride (which is normally $25-$30) is hiked up to $81. I saw it change instantly. The price dipped once I charged my phone to 25%.
Drivers built Uber and Lyft. We can build our own app too. And we're pretty sure a lot of our customers would be happy to pay their driver, not Wall St.
We broke bread in Brooklyn today to give thanks and honor our members who have been providing transportation for our fellow New Yorkers with disabilities thru Access-a-Ride. Let’s build a city that works for all of us! ♿️🤝🚗
@David4BK
is a great MC 😊
✅ Riders pay less.
✅ Drivers earn more.
❌ Wall Street and venture capitalists get... nothing!
Co-op Ride is the first driver-owned rideshare app. Together, we can put workers back in the driver’s seat.
"I downloaded it not knowing what the prices would be, but just knowing that more would be going to the drivers directly.
Then when I went to book my first ride, I was like 'oh, this is significantly cheaper than the other ridesharing apps, too.'"
Just took my first
@TheDriversCoop
ride. (Thanks Andy!) It's wild how different it is to talk with driver-owners about their job than uber/lyft drivers. "We have a new app coming out soon", "we'll make it better", "we need more drivers". Collective ownership is major.
🚨🚨Our Annual Report is out and it's kind of a banger!
💰 $5.2 million paid to drivers
📈 12x growth
🌈 $30/hr. living wage for drivers- the first and only living wage guarantee in the gig economy

Learned recently about
@TheDriversCoop
in NYC.
The idea is to give drivers democratic control of their industry.
The fares are MUCH lower than Uber and Lyft and actually go to the driver.
If you hate the organized crime of Uber and Lyft, download the Drivers Co-op app.
