according to a new article from @axios, out of 1501 artists accepted to play at SXSW last year, only 128 chose payment over wristbands. SXSW paid $32,000 MAX to artists (if every act got $250). It’s estimated that SXSW 2022 generated an economic benefit to the city of $280.7M.
