So @FloWrestling just dropped the preseason rankings. A team named “transfer portal” came in tied for 49th with 8 other schools. Not sure who it is—but if any coach out there cares about preseason hype… you better stop what you are doing and go recruit that 0.5 point. 😂.

Imagine if a Big 10 program needing & willing to pay for a home dual had the ability to make a post saying “10k or best offer to wrestle us Nov 11th - mid majors only”. Would be a fun bid war and chat room to be in, Just saying.
Has anyone checked this out yet? I haven’t but will get an account next week. I’m sure it’ll get promoted at the coaches convention. I’d love to see something on this that helps coaches with scheduling so coaches don’t have to do the cold calls and mass emails .

That’s a fair take. If he didn’t pull out of any upcoming MMA fights, didn’t change camps, & he keeps his MMA training intact, then I mark it off as cross-training. Sharpening his base. Competing doesn’t mean commitment shift. But I don’t fight, so what do I know. 🤷♂️.
@TheCoachSentes He’s a guy with championship aspirations who got smashed his last time out. Tough to reach the pinnacle of MMA without a singular focus on that task. No different than other sports, you know. Don’t see many multi sport athletes winning titles.

The troll game in MMA is next level 😂.Bo was built for it—he can be a troll himself. MMA is full of fake X accounts and I love it. I’ve never made a burner so everything I say is traceable… which can feel like a high-wire act at times.

I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again:. Every coach is a fundraiser and needs to generate revenue. You’re either raising money to survive, to compete, or to dominate. Like it or not, the financial burden is shifting—and it’s falling more and more on the shoulders of coaches.
This statement from David Taylor yesterday was really timely with the Cleveland State news. Every college wrestling coach in the country has to stretch beyond just being a coach and find ways to generate revenue and excitement for their program

The coaches have been GREAT, I need the @BergelinBrock contacts though.
@TheCoachSentes @WrestlersInBus I doubt some of these programs would be willing to comply but seeing if Penn state, Cornell, UNC, etc would share some of their employer list of contacts. Ik some college coaches have done a great job of getting these list down on paper. And see if they would share their lists.

Never ran a kids event so I cannot comment on overhead. If they are charging more to pay the refs better, I understand. I’m sure there are a lot of unseen costs. I had same thing for my sons . soccer games . Pay a bunch of money to be in a league just to pay more to watch.
@TheCoachSentes Yeah I get charged $40 to coach my son at the middle school state tournament. It's not a USAW event, but the kids have to have their USAW cards to register. They charge $40 for wrestlers and $20 for the general public. They don't let you bring in water or food.

Just please don’t charge me $50 to coach my daughters three matches that I already paid $40 to register her for again.
