American revolutionaries were much more vexed by acts of Parliament than those of the king (whose traditional prerogatives parliament was usurping). American revolution was more a revolt against democracy than monarchy. Few know this.

Went to a wedding today at a Catholic Church. About 3/4 way thru, after all I could take, I turned to my wife and said, “this is why the Reformation had to happen” This is why we celebrate and remember the Reformation annually at my church. We need another Reformation today
