For every dollar of wagering turnover on Tasmanian thoroughbred racing, the industry gets roughly 6c of funding. Harness racing gets roughly 9c per dollar. Greyhounds get roughly 3c per dollar. Why, @jeremyrockliff, is the sport that most supports itself the one being cut?.
@TheCalebBond Turnover figures for Tas racing 3 codes. Gallops 333m distribution from Govt 19.9m.Harness 114m distribution from Govt 9.8m.Greyhounds 266m distribution from Govt 7.3m. Off those figures wagering on greyhounds is subsiding the other codes, and the likely REAL reason for the ban.
