Wesley's covenant prayer makes a good extension to Heidelberg Catechism's first answer. My only comfort is that I am not my own, therefore I can pray this prayer to God:
Today on Lectio 365: The Methodist Covenant prayer, written by John Wesley in 1755, is prayed by millions of Methodists at the start of every year. It’s a liturgy of profound and beautiful surrender, and so I join with sisters and brothers in Christ around the world as I pray:
